ATHNA is actively pursuing a number of initiatives this month to support travel health nursing. We bring to your attention:

  • New Marketing Internship
  • LARCs TravelByte CE Blog
  • Board Vacancies
  • ATHNA negotiation with ANA
  • COCA Partnership Opportunity

Marketing Intern - ATHNA has formally initiated its search for this paid position. We plan to improve our outreach to members and the larger global health and travel community. LARCS TravelBytes CE Program - our first CE accredited blog is now up on the website. Learn about the new long acting contraceptive methods now available for all women and especially useful for some of our travelers. CE credit is a free benefit of ATHNA membership; accreditation for this program extends through April 2019.

Two Board Vacancies - we are receiving letters of interest from our members and will accept applications through November 1. Any member who might want to join the Board is encouraged to contact Gail Rosselot at garosselot@aol.com. It is a wonderful opportunity to help shape the future of our specialty.

ANA Specialty Recognition - ATHNA has begun negotiations with ANA to formally recognize travel health nursing as a professional nursing specialty in the United States.
